If I deregister my kindle and re-register to another amazon account, does my already purchased content go away?
I want to give my original kindle to my sister and buy myself the new edition. But, I also want her to be able to read all the books I have paid for and loaded already on the original kindle. Ideally I would deregister the original kindle before I give it to her so she can re-register to her own amazon account. But then will my old content disappear?

Your original purchased content will stay in your account on Amazon. Read the question “How do I access my existing Kindle library on a new Kindle?” in the link below to see how you can get your purchased content back when you get your new Kindle:

Hope that helps.

No, your old content will not disappear. All you need to do is when you get your new Kindle, register it under your old account and you will have access to all your original content.
You old content will appear as “archived item” on your new Kindle home screen. Simply click on it and choose the items you want.
Also, the content that is on the Kindle you are giving to your sister will still be there for her to enjoy. If she delete them, they will be gone forever. . . unless of course she re-register to your account again and get more content. . . or purchase her own content via her personal account.
Hope this helps.
