Does anyone have the kindle for reading their college textbooks?
I am thinking about buying a kindle and want to know if it is worth it for my textbooks. What is the experience like?

Yes, I own the Kindle and I’ve got a few textbooks on it. There will be more and more textbooks available for the Kindle, as Amazon has signed contract with some main textbooks publishers (which represents 60% of the textbook market). You can find more related information in my previous answer here:

I love my Kindle 2 very much indeed. If you are thinking of buying a Kindle, I’ll say get it and you won’t regret. Other than textbooks, Amazon also provides books for the Kindle cheaper than actual books, so it has saved me quite a lot of money. Right now I’ve read over 10 books with the Kindle, and I really like the idea that I can bring and store all the books with the handy device. Besides, it uses the e-ink technology, so even I read with the device for long hours, I don’t feel tired. My only complaint is the white case, right now all the Kindles are in white color. . . I think it will be cool if I can have a black or deep blue color Kindle
I’ll suggest you to read this review too, it outlines quite a lot of benefits of the Kindle:

Hope this helps.

I’ve also got a few textbooks on my Kindle. It saved me some heavy weights, and I’m waiting for Amazon to release more textbooks for the Kindle so eventually I only need to bring the Kindle with me and no more textbooks. That will really be amazing
For me, I like my Kindle very much. I remember I read this review when I buy it:

And you may consider the new Kindle DX. Both the Kindle 2 and the Kindle DX are good. Just read this review and it should help you to decide which to go:

I don’t have a Kindle myself, but a number of my classmates have and I really admire them. I know they have got some textbooks on the Kindle.
I remember I read this review some time ago, and I’m now saving money to get mine
