The long wait is over.  The Kindle book reader is now available in Canada. If you live in Canada all you have to do is visit this link and you will be taken to the Amazon Kindle  page. There, just click on the “add to shopping cart” link and you will be taken to the checkout page

The Kindle Canada does not come with a cover, I strongly suggest you get one since it is an expensive electronic gadget and can get damaged if dropped.

You can pay your Kindle purchase with your Canadian credit card and have it sent to your home in Canada. Supplies are limited though, and these are selling fast so better hurry if you are thinking about getting one.

Kindle DX Canada now Available for $489

Good news! Amazon has just released the new model of the Kindle DX reader. With a big 9.7″ screen it now offers Global Wireless,  which enables you to wirelessly download content in over 100 countries and territories (Including Canada, of course). With an extended battery life, you can now read for up to 1 week on a single charge with wireless on, a significant improvement from the previous battery life of 4 days.

This is going to be awesome for people who travel a lot and want to stay connected or take periodic travels. The price is the same as the old US-only version, $489.

tcvi.me Today on the Bottom Line we talk with Wendy Sheehan Donnell from PC Mag and Kevin Harter, a contributor here at techvi and owner of Backslash Technologies, about the SDK which Amazon released for the Kindle today. Will these apps make the Kindle a more appealing device despite the limited black and white e-ink display? Apple is rumored to be changing the default search engine to Microsoft’s Bing, does this hint at the Apple versus Google ‘war’ and what does this mean for iphone users? Brent P. Newhall demonstrates the new Kindle DX. This is particularly aimed at folks who want to see Kindle’s E Ink screen in action, and how long is required to load pages. I demonstrate a regular Kindle book, a native PDF, and a web browser page. I also show all three in landscape as well as portrait mode.

I was with my Kindle on the beach in Tampa and just block forever. I was not anywhere near the water, but I’m not sure if the humidity or the heat stored screw something up. I have the money so you can actually take out books months to be with me directly to my house on the beach and surfing, not this garbage.
